da politica na música, ou da música politica

I interpret the song to be about living a quiet, apolitical domestic life in our troubling era of war and economic imperialism. I can't quite tell whether the songwriter intended to chastise people for being politically apathetic - he could very well be describing how he and a loved one take refuge in the "small" things ("picking apples, making pie"), away from troubling discourse. Regardless of the singer's intended meanings, the song is precious and chilling.

While the songs don’t appear to be political, they can certainly be re-construed that way, which is probably why the band ended their set with them. It was a wildly effective double punch.
